Year-round sunshine, golden beaches and island hospitality.

About Cyprus

Sunshine almost all year

Cyprus pairs long sunny seasons with sandy beaches, ancient ruins and cool mountain villages. Plugs are the same as at home and many people speak English, making it one of the easiest Mediterranean escapes from the UK. We arrange flights, hotels and transfers as one trip.

Troodos Mountains

Pine forests, painted churches and wine villages — cool in summer.

Larnaca

A palm-lined seafront close to the airport, with salt lake views and easy beaches.

Culture and customs

Cypriots are warm and welcoming — a long, sociable meze meal is the best way to experience island life.

Zero tolerance on drugs. Cyprus strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy that includes cannabis and laughing gas, with long prison terms and heavy fines possible — even in transit through the airport.

Mind your camera. Avoid taking photographs near sensitive areas such as military buildings; doing so can lead to arrest.

Keep your passport. Some hire companies ask to hold your passport as a deposit — this is illegal, so never hand it over.

Swim on approved beaches. Bathing is generally safe, but there can be strong waves and currents. Follow warning signs and swim only on approved beaches.

Wildfire season. The wildfire risk is high from April to October. Register your mobile phone to receive emergency alerts.

Travelling to Cyprus — quick answers

Can’t see your question? Send us a message or WhatsApp us.

Do I need a visa for Cyprus with a British passport?

No — you can travel without a visa to Cyprus for up to 90 days in a 180-day period. Cyprus is not in the Schengen area: visits to Cyprus do not count towards your 90-day Schengen limit, and Schengen visits do not count towards your Cyprus limit. Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before you arrive, be valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave, and have at least one blank page. Cyprus is not part of the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).

Can I visit the north of Cyprus?

If you enter Cyprus through the north, the Republic of Cyprus authorities will consider you to have entered illegally, and time spent in the north counts towards your 90-day total. Hire cars from the Republic often lack insurance cover for the north. Read the GOV.UK travel advice before you plan a crossing.

How long is the flight to Cyprus?

About 4½ hours from London. There are nonstop flights to Larnaca and Paphos from London and most UK airports, with some regional routes seasonal.

Is Cyprus safe to visit?

Crime against tourists is uncommon. The main risks are summer wildfires (high risk from April to October) and strong currents on some beaches. Read the latest GOV.UK travel advice before you go.

When is the best time to visit Cyprus?

April to June and September to October are ideal — warm and sunny without the peak heat. July and August are the hottest months, and winter is mild for a sunshine break.
