Beaches, history and flavour
White-sand Caribbean beaches on the Riviera Maya, ancient Mayan cities, colonial towns and the buzz of Mexico City — Mexico combines a relaxing beach stay with real culture and some of the world's best food. It is a favourite for honeymoons, families and all-inclusive holidays, and we plan the whole trip: flights, hotels, transfers and tours, with one team you can message.
Where to go

Turquoise sea, all-inclusive resorts, Playa del Carmen and the clifftop ruins of Tulum.

Museums, markets, street food and the pyramids of Teotihuacan nearby.

Mayan wonders, swimmable cenotes and the colourful colonial city of Mérida.
Mexico's food and crafts capital, with colourful streets and mezcal.
Desert meets ocean at the tip of Baja California Sur, with whale watching in winter.
Culture and customs
Mexicans are warm and family-minded, and courtesy matters.
Greet people properly. A handshake and “buenos días” or “buenas tardes” is the polite way to start any conversation, even in shops.
No vapes. It is illegal to bring e-cigarettes, vaping devices and liquids into Mexico or to buy and sell them. Customs will confiscate them and you could be fined or detained.
Carry your passport. Officials may ask to see your passport and entry stamp — copies and photos are not accepted. Make sure your passport is stamped on entry and exit, and keep any e-gate ticket for when you leave.
Drugs. Do not become involved with drugs of any kind; sentences can be up to 25 years.
Taxis. Use regulated “sitio” taxis from authorised ranks, or ask your hotel to order one.
Drinks. Don't leave food and drinks unattended in bars and restaurants, and buy alcohol from reputable places.

Travelling to Mexico — quick answers
Can’t see your question? Send us a message or WhatsApp us.
Do I need a visa for Mexico with a British passport?
Not as a tourist. You get a stamp in your passport showing how many days you can stay — make sure it is stamped on entry and exit. Your passport must be valid for your whole stay, and the Mexican Embassy recommends at least 180 days' validity. If you use the airport e-gates (aged 18 or over), keep the printed e-gate ticket to show when you leave. Arrivals by land must fill in an immigration form online, and if you have goods to declare you must submit a customs form online before travelling.
How long is the flight from the UK to Mexico?
Nonstop flights to Cancún take about 10½ to 11 hours: British Airways and TUI fly from Gatwick, TUI from Manchester and Birmingham, and Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow in winter. Aeromexico and British Airways fly nonstop from Heathrow to Mexico City in about 12 hours.
When is the best time to visit Mexico?
November to April is the dry season and the most popular time to go. The hurricane season normally runs from June to November and can affect both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.
Is Mexico safe for tourists?
The UK Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel to parts of several Mexican states, including all of Zacatecas and most of Guerrero, Colima, Michoacán, Sinaloa, Chihuahua and Tamaulipas. The main holiday areas — Cancún and the Riviera Maya, Mexico City, Yucatán, Oaxaca city and Los Cabos in Baja California Sur — are not covered by these warnings. In Cancún, Tulum and Playa del Carmen, take care after dark in downtown areas, and check the latest GOV.UK advice before you travel; your insurance could be invalid if you travel against it.
Can Travel Style book my whole Mexico trip?
Yes. We're IATA accredited, so we issue flights ourselves and can add hotels, transfers, internal flights and tours in one booking — with one team to message before, during and after your trip.
