What we do for you

Replacing a lost or stolen Indian passport takes more than a renewal: a police report, Annexure F, a lost-passport undertaking and a letter explaining what happened, and the High Commission checks your old passport record before issuing a new one.

We prepare every form for you to sign, put your documents in order and tell you what to do if your old passport turns up.

  • Annexure F and the lost-passport undertaking prepared
  • Your letter to the Passport Officer drafted with you
  • Help getting the right police report
  • Photographs printed to the checklist size

Who it’s for: Adult Indian citizens in the UK whose passport is lost, stolen or damaged

Which applies to you?

It depends on your circumstances

When you start, we go through these with you.

Report it to the police

A lost or stolen passport must be reported to the police straight away. The report needs to show the passport details. A damaged passport does not need a police report.

Lost or stolen
No name change

Your name cannot be changed when a passport is replaced because it was lost. The new passport is issued in the same name.

Same name
It takes longer

Checking the old passport record can take four to six weeks, and police verification can take three to six months where it is needed.

No fast track

Travelling to India urgently

If you only need to get to India, an Emergency Certificate is a one-way travel document. We can prepare this instead.
